Usually, the rear indicator light of diesel forklift truck is composed of red brake light, red width light, yellow turn signal light and white reverse light. In order to meet the requirements of the vehicle appearance, the newly produced HT series diesel forklift has only red and yellow rear indicators, red brake lights, red width indicators and yellow turn signals, and the white reverse lights have been removed.

Its astern indicator function is realized by the two rear working lights at the rear of the cab, i.e. the working lights are reverse lights during the day and rear lights at night. This design is based on the fact that heavy forklifts are mainly used for loading and unloading containers in ports. Diesel forklift trucks do not need to be illuminated by rear working lights during daytime operation, which just happen to be used as reverse lights. At night, the light in the port is dim, and the front and rear working lights must be turned on during the operation of diesel forklift truck to ensure the safety of operation.

When the diesel forklift truck is running in daytime, the mode transfer switch 1 should be set in daytime (i.e. 1 and 5 are off). When reversing, the transmission electronic control unit 2 sends a low level to the coil of reversing relay 3, and the main contacts of reversing relay 3 are attracted (i.e. 30 and 87 closed). Current flows from the positive terminal of battery 4 to the rear working lights 6 and 7 through fuse 5, the main contacts of reversing relay 3, and the contacts (1 and 5) of mode change-over switch 1, then back to the negative terminal of battery 4 to form a loop. At the same time, the two rear working lights 6 and 7 light up, and the reverse buzzer 8 turns on and buzzes.

When diesel forklift truck works at night, mode transfer switch 1 should be in night gear (that is, 7 and 5 should be closed), and working light switch 9 should be closed at the same time. At this point, the current flows from the positive terminal of battery 4 to the rear working lights 6 and 7 through the contacts of fuse 10, working light switch 9 (1 and 5), and mode transfer switch 1 (7 and 5), then back to the negative terminal of battery 4 to form a loop. At this point, the two rear working lights 6 and 7 are always on regardless of whether the diesel forklift is in reverse or not.

If the night working light switch 9 is not turned off, the two rear working lights 6 and 7 do not respond when the diesel forklift is backing up, only the reverse buzzer 8 sounds. If night mode switch 1 is in day gear (i.e. 1st and 5th gear are off), rear working lights 6th and 7th gear are only lit when reversing.

In addition, in order to facilitate the driver to see the working status of each switch while working at night, there are indicators on the work light switch 9 and mode transfer switch 1. When the headlight combination switch 11 is in the width indicating gear, the front and rear width indicators of the diesel forklift truck are on, and the indicators on the working light switch 9 and mode transfer switch 1 are always on.
